Our House hustle: Policy Wonk and Saucy Strategizer
Hometown: New Haven, CT
Currently living in: Brooklyn, NY
Why did you decide to start/become involved with Our House? Sheena called me with this idea and her excitement was contagious. I love and respect her a lot so I said yes. I also think it’s a great idea. If we’re getting deep here, I also said yes because I believe in the power of action - no matter how small - to ensure a heightened awareness and informed dialogue about current events. I believe in a more equitable America filled with people who aren’t afraid to publicize their outrage, hope, and compassion. I have a background in politics and government, and my biggest pet peeve is apathy. (Note: My biggest pet peeve is actually “hobo” font, but that didn’t seem relevant to this discussion.)
Words you live by: “We have to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third.” - Leslie Knope

Which Our House collection particularly resonates with you? Science - it’s real! Because it’s science and it’s real and I can’t believe this is even a thing we have to say right now.
Podcast you’re listening to right now: I have an hour commute to work so I dabble in a bit of everything. My one true podcast love will always with Ask Me Another.
Best party trick: I really like to tell stories. Like long, dramatic, funny stories. Usually about things that have happened to me like almost getting murdered by an escalator, breaking my nose in an ice cream shop, dealing with elderly, thieving crashers at my wedding, and/or that time I awkwardly hugged my interviewer in the most epic Rachel-from-Friends style moment of my life. Is this a party trick? If not, I also do animal impressions.
I can’t say no to a good: bowl of pasta. I actually prefer my pasta in a trough, but a bowl will do.
